Bradford Lee “Brad” Lamon, 58, of Thomasville, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 13, 2016 surrounded by family and friends at Archbold Memorial Medical Center following an extended illness. He was born in Santa Barbara, California on November 17, 1957. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 22 years, Candace Cooper Lamon, whom he married May 14, 1994, and his two sons, Brian Lamon and his wife Brigitte, and Tyler Lamon and his wife Bobbi. He was the loving grandfather of three grandchildren, Cooper, Briley, and Ava, all of Thomasville, GA. He is also survived by siblings Cindy Holland and Mark Lamon, along with a host of nieces and nephews, family, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. Brad was in law enforcement for over 30 years. He began his career in 1979 with the Thomas County Sheriff’s Office, and later served for White County Sheriff’s Office. Brad enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, as well as his dogs, which he referred to as his saving graces. He loved Georgia football and being around his family and friends. He lived for being in law enforcement, and loved protecting and serving his community. He was a beloved husband, father, and friend. The family would like to especially thank Dr. Daryl Crenshaw and Nurses Keith Bruce and Kayla Waller for their compassion during very difficult moments. There is also a special thank you to Archbold Memorial’s dialysis, IMCU, and ICU staff.
Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 in the evening of Thursday, March 17, 2016 at Allen and Allen’s Funeral Home. Services will be at 11:00 AM, Friday, March 18, 2016, at Dawson Street Baptist Church in Thomasville with Dr. Mike Keown officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Allen and Allen Funeral Home and Thomas County Sheriff’s Office.
