David Lavoyd Gay

Funeral services for David Lavoyd Gay, 80, of Thomasville, are 3:00 pm, Thursday, July 12, 2007 at Bethsaidia Baptist Church Bridge Creek, in Colquitt Co., where he was a member, with interment to follow in church cemetery. The Rev. Cleve Blanton will officiate. Mr. Gay died July 8, 2007 at Golden Life Center. Born October 25, 1926 in Colquitt Co, he was the son of the late Jermiah & Cora Elizabeth Smithwick Gay. On Feb 23 1946 in Camilla, Ga, he married Vivian Louise Sloan, who survives. Mr. Gay was self employed as a Plant Nursery Owner, Auto Body Shop and worked for Faulk Chevrolet for 10 years, he was a Lay Minister for Primitive Baptist Church Bridge Creek, Hardee's Boisterous Section, and liked to fish. Other survivors include, daughters & sons-in-law, Deborah & Warren Ledy, of Doylestown Pa., Linda G. & Richard Sirmons, of Tallahassee, son & daughter-in-law, Randall & Janice Gay, of Thomasville, grandchildren, Michael Gay, Robert Jonathon Sirmons. A brother, George Gay and sisters, Leta Lanfair, Durene Caldridge and Cleo Maxwell preceded him in death. The family will receive friends 6-8 pm, Wednesday, at Allen & Allen Funeral Home.
