Graveside services for Doreitha Croft Beaty, 84, of Thomasville will be 3:30 on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Pastor Jorge E. Quintiana, Jr. will officiate. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers Mrs. Beaty died on February 19, 2012. Born on January 3, 1928 in Berlin, GA, she was the daughter of the late James Robert and Beady Velia Strickland Croft. She was a member of Kenyon Memorial Seventh Day Adventist Church. Mrs. Beaty was artistic and creative with interests and hobbies that included all types of decorative needle work, crocheting and ceramics. She has been an expert seamstress and enjoyed sewing for family and friends. She also worked as a seamstress and supervisor at Joan Art Mills. She loved to cook and bake with her specialty being homemade desserts. On June 25, 1944, she married the late Ward Albritton Beaty. She is survived by a son and daughter in law, Michael A. and Pat Beaty, Sr. and a daughter and son in law, Teresa B. and Bruce Blankenship. Other survivors include grandchildren, Michael A. Beaty, Jr. Leslie of Duluth, GA, , Melanie B. Johnson Steven, of Lake Park, GA, Matthew N. Blankenship and Steven L. Blankenship, both of Thomasville; great grandchildren, Michael A. Tripp Beaty III, Blair K. Beaty, Landon D. Johnson, Annabelle E. Johnson, Britton L. Blankenship and Porter D. Blankenship. Also surviving are sisters Ovelia Barrow of Boston, GA, Rebecca Boles and her husband Gene of Fernandina Beach, FL and brothers Lawson Croft and his wife Betty of Thomasville, Simon Croft and his wife Mattie Lou of Valdosta, Robert Croft and his wife Betty of New Market, VA and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers, Reuben J. Croft, Clayton E. Croft, Samuel D. Croft and a sister, Ola Mae Vonier. For the last three years, Mrs. Beaty has considered the Golden Living Center her home. She considered the staff as part of her extended family. She would want special thanks given to the entire staff for their loving care and support.
