Elizabeth Finley Mcveigh

Funeral services for Elizabeth Finley McVeigh, 57 of Thomasville will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 3, 2003 at Morningside United Methodist Church with the Rev. John Stephens and William W. Powell officiating. Mrs. McVeigh died on Sunday, August 31, 2003 at her residence. Born on Nov. 5, 1946 in Thomasville, Ga., she was the daughter of Doris Parramore Finley and Dennis T. Finley, who both have preceded her in death. Her grandparents were Bessie Parramore and Dallas Parramore who also have preceded her in death. She was a nurse at Southwestern State Hospital working in Rose Haven Unit. She graduated from Central High School in 1966 and Thomas College School of Nursing in 1983. She was married to James Cornek McVeigh Sr. who survives of Thomasville, a twin sister Elaine Washington and husband Jerry Washington of Atlanta, mother-in-law Glady Van Sceenburg of Lake Placid, Fl., brother-in-law William Wesley Powell and sister-in-law Myrt Powell of Lake Placid, Fl., Aunts Nell Parramore Chapell of Thomasville, and Joyce Parramore Wilsonof Deland, Fl., Uncle Albert Parramore of Young Harris, Ga. She was preceded in death by her aunts Agnes Parramore Scoggins and Bobby Scoggins. Surviving children are daughters and sons-in-law Leslie McVeigh and Gary Flowers, Laura McViegh and Ronald Wright Penn, Lisa McVeigh and Bobby Bufford, daughter Taylor Lynn McVeigh all of Thomasville, son and daughter-in-law James Cornell and Ronda McVeigh Jr., of Cairo, Grandchildren Elizabeth Ragan, Tylor Flowers, Whitney Palmer, Courtney Palmer, Zackery Penn, Allison Dupree, Keri Dupree, and Anthony Johns; Cousins Frankie Scoggins, Patsy Aspinwall, Greg Chapell, Tommy Chapell, Mickey Chapell, Donnie Wilson, Reggie Wilson, Jimmy Wilson, Bert Parramore, Wesley Parramore, Ginna Parramore. The family will recieve friends on Tuesday evening from 6:00 - 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
