Frank H. Neel Jr.

Memorial service for Frank H. Neel, Jr. will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at Dawson Street Methodist Church with Pastor Buddy Whatley officiating. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the family is requesting masks be worn to the service. Mr. Neel of Thomasville passed away on February 2, 2022, at Archbold Memorial Hospital. He was born on December 27, 1949, son of the late Frances and Frank Neel, Sr.; and was a member of Dawson Street Methodist Church, Sons of the Revolution and a former member of Kiwanis Club and Elk Club. Through his daughter's involvement with swimming, he became a Georgia Parks and Recreation swimming stroke and turn judge. He also coached softball for many years at the YMCA. Frank was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Survivors include his wife Diana Neel, of Thomasville; daughter Rebecca Neel (Rachel), of Tallahassee; grandchildren Tyler Hunter Neel and Brady Everett Johnston Neel; great-grandchildren Karter Blake Neel and Waylon Leon Neel; sisters Margaret Neel Wright (Emil), of Auburn, Alabama, Sally Neel Sullivan (Robert) of Thomasville, Jane Neel Ashton (Tim) of Thomasville; and numerous nieces and nephews. Frank was preceded in death by his parents and brother Robert Lawson Neel. The family will gather at the fellowship hall after the service to greet friends. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Frank’s honor to Dawson Street Methodist Church or a charity of your choice.
