Services for Jim L. Vinson, 85, of Boston, are at 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at Salem Baptist Church. The Rev. Gene Vinson and Rev. John Grebeta will officiate and interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers are Jack Griffin, Donnie Vinson, Kent Vinson, Ethan Vinson, Craig Moore and Jason Hand. Mr. Vinson passed away Sunday, April 18 at the Golden Living Center. Born, Dec. 9, 1924 in Boston, he was the son of the late Paul Livingston and Addie Lou Barden Vinson. On Nov. 26, 1947, in Pavo, he married Frances Tidwell Vinson, who survives. He was a farmer and a member of Salem Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon. Other survivors include children, Larry W. Vinson, Marvin E. Vinson and wife, Denise, Sherri Geer and husband John all of Boston; grandchildren, Billy Vinson, Karen Vinson, Amy Chris Smith, Susan Elizabeth Vinson, Blade Geer, Christy Victor and Jason Hand; great-grandchildren, Nikki, Bobby, Michael, Desi, Dusty, Austin, Cierra, Jolee and Nicholas; siblings, Vance Vinson and Ida Butler both of Boston, Byron Vinson of Valdosta and Gene Vinson of Pavo.
