Josephine H. Carter

Josephine H. Carter of Thomasville, Ga, passed away on January 11, 2022. She was born in Pavo, Ga, on January 14, 1934, to Charlie and Martha Hogan. Josephine was a member of Dawson Street Baptist Church, where she worked in the nursery. She was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Josephine was preceded in death by her parents, and husband Hubert Carter. She is survived by her daughters Scarlett (Don) Horton of Cairo, Ruby Barnes of Moultrie, her son Ike Carter of Thomasville, granddaughter Brittany (Justin) Duke of Cairo, grandsons Brandon (Emily) Horton of Alabama, Garrett (Nicole) Barnes of Thomasville, and Ethan (Raven) Barnes. She is also survived by her great grandchildren Ashlynn Duke, Hailey Duke, JC Barnes, and Makinze Barnes. A private memorial service for Josephine Carter will be held for family.
