Kay Marie Faglie

February 4, 1948 — May 28, 2020

Kay Marie Faglie 72, passed away Thursday morning May 28th at her home of 18 years in Thomasville Georgia. Living previously in Mary Esther, FL, Kay was born February 4, 1948 in Jamestown, New York. She was the daughter of the late Gust and Betty Rundquist (Parsons), sister of the late Nancy Hamilton and the mother of the late Shawn C Faglie. Kay is survived by her husband of 51 years, Jerry C Faglie and her stepmother Betty Lawson. She also leaves behind her daughter-in-law Rebecca Faglie Breault, 5 granddaughters Melissa Quinton Abbott, Amanda Moore Faglie, Emily Faglie, Angelina Giordani (Breault) and Arlene Breault. 4 great-grandsons, Jameson Moore, Kamren Giordani, Kaylub Giordani, and Jaden Vasquez and one great-granddaughter Liliana Giordani. 2 grandsons in law, Ian Moore and Wesley Giordani. A niece Jennifer Bailey Hamilton, nephew Wess Bailey and great nephew Gabriel Hamilton Bailey. Her brother in law Bill E. Faglie, nephew Lance Faglie, niece Ashley Faglie and two great-nephews Hudson and Henry Faglie. Kay's nurturing spirit went beyond her family and friends, so much so that she entered into the nursing profession. After graduating in 1969 from St. Joseph Infirmary, Kay worked in various hospitals and doctors’ offices both in and out of the United States. She loved taking care of people and did so for many years throughout Georgia and Florida. She then took that nurturing spirit across the world where she was a nurse for the United States Embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. She also worked at the Army hospital in Frankfurt, Germany. She retired in 2002 but always remained a nurse at heart, caring for family and friends alike. Kay had such an infectious smile and personality that she made friends wherever she went and always made everyone feel like they were her family. Her sudden passing has left many with a broken heart. We will never forget this amazing, compassionate, loving, and strong woman. We will carry the memory of her in our hearts forever and we will love and miss her always. A gathering in her memory and spreading of her ashes will be held at a later date at the family's property in Madison, Florida. We will update everyone soon. Our family would also like to thank Allen & Allen Funeral Home and Sunset Crematorium of Thomasville, GA for taking care of mom and for all their support.
