Memorial services for Landen Bryce Smallwood, 14, of Thomasville are 2:00 pm, Saturday, August 21, 2010 at Allen & Allen Funeral Home Chapel. Landen passed away August 16, 2010 in Thomasville. Born October 2, 1995, in Tallahassee, Fla., he was the son Daniel Smallwood, Jr. and fiancé Sharon Mileo and Elizabeth and Darrell Burden. He attended Woodville Elementary School and Nims Middle School and later attended school in Leitchfield, Kentucky before moving to Thomasville, where he started attending TCCHS. He loved fishing and other outdoor activities, and was particularly fond of baseball. He played two seasons as pitcher for the Woodville Allstars coached by Jeff Laing, his special friend and had dreams of becoming a Major League Pitcher. He was a friendly, outgoing person, who was well liked by all who knew him. Other survivors include sisters, Tiffany Smallwood, Trisha Burney, Cathy Smallwood and Paige Durden; grandparents, Lou and Gail Burney, Belinda Posey, Russell Cole and Daniel Smallwood, Sr.; aunts, Jamie Palmer, Alisha Hudson, Robin Frazier, Marilyn Alpern and husband, Michael: uncles, Dale Knapp, John Cole and Robby McGinnis; cousins, Kevin Knapp, Jenny Cleland Robbie, Becky, Amanda, Nikki, Jade, Tesla, Savannah, Chancey, PJ and Blake. He was preceded in death by his aunt, Arlene Knapp; grandmother, Diane Hudson, great grandmother, Katherine Frazier and great grandfather, James Posey. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Landen Smallwood?s name to Lee?s Place, a private, non-profit grief counseling center, 216 Lake Ella Drive, Tallahassee, FL. 32303, 850-841-7733.
