Funeral services for Reideth “Zee” Wheeler Horner, 91, of Thomasville will be held Thursday, March 12, 2015, 11:00AM at Morningside Methodist Church. Rev. Alan Hartsfield will officiate. Mrs. Horner passed away on March 07, 2015. Born July 09, 1923 in Gadsden, AL, she was the daughter of the late Grady Harrison Wheeler and Della Ashley Wheeler. She attended Huntingdon College in Montgomery, AL. She worked for the Government in Civil Service as a Teletype Operator for four years. Mrs. Horner met and married Derle (Jim) D. Horner in 1947 and moved to Emmetsburg, Iowa, where they lived for 25 years. They moved to Thomasville in 1973. She was a lifelong Methodist, served on the Alumni Board of Huntingdon College, President of U.M.W. at Morningside United Methodist Church for four years, went to Mexico with Lifeline Teams three times, on the Larry Nunnally Ministries board, the “Destiny” Christian Women’s Board and the Magnolia Manor South Advisory Board in Moultrie. She has taught Sunday school for over 40 years. Mrs. Horner loved her Lord, her family, and her church. She is survived by her two sons Wayne Allan Horner and Bobby Lyndon Horner and his wife Sheri; two grandchildren Matthew Landon Horner and Brennan Horner; brother Kenneth Lamar Wheeler and wife Vicki; sister Beatrice Wheeler Melton and husband Reuben, brother-in-law R.C. Wakefield; sisters-in-law Lamoyne Wheeler and Wanda Wheeler; many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her brothers Grady H. Wheeler, Alfred H. Wheeler and Marion J. Wheeler and wife Marian and Harry W. and wife Juanice Wheeler; sister Louise Wakefield. The family will receive friends before the service 10:00AM until 11:00AM at the church.
