A memorial service for Mary Alice Victoria Chubb Wolsfelt, 69, of Gainesville, Fl and Thomasville, GA at 4 pm, Saturday, June 25, 2011 at All Saints Episcopal Church. Father Frederick Buechner will officiate. Mrs. Wolsfelt passed away June 21, 2011 at Archbold Hospital. Born September 1, 1941 in New York City, NY, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Caldecott Chubb and Edith Rosine Onions Chubb. On April 24, 1966 at St. Thomas Episcopal Church she married Gerald Robert Wolsfelt who survives. She attended Greenwich Country Day, graduated from Rosemary Hall, attended St. Mary's Jr. College in Raleigh, NC, graduated from the University of Florida College of Education and graduated from Florida Atlantic with a masters degree in Education and masters degree in Guidance Counseling. Mrs. Wolsfelt was a member of Magnolia Garden Club in Gainesville, was an active member of the Gainesville-Alachua County Board of Realtors, broker/saleswoman, Kappa Alpha Theta sorority where she served as vice president and secretary, sustainer of Thomasville Junior Service League, past president of the American Red Cross of Thomas County; worked at Archbold Hospital as a Pink Lady in the emergency room and x-ray department; a former board member of Vashti and was a USA Swimming official who officiated at 3 Olympic trials, 2000, 2004 and 2008. She was an excellent sailor, winning many trophies for Indian Harbor Yacht Club; she was a member of the Beachton Yacht Club and Georgia-Florida Field Trial Club. Other survivors include children, Victoria Tory Wolsfelt Wagner and husband John of Thomasville, Martha Marcy Wolsfelt Mortimer and husband Stephen of St. Petersburg, Fl, Gerald Russell Wolsfelt and wife Susannah of Birmingham, Ala and Peter Van Fleet Wolsfelt and wife Jaime of Thomasville; grandchildren, Mary Katherine Moreton, Natalie Moreton, Jack Moreton, Sarah Bayly Wagner, Stephanie Mortimer, Allison Mortimer, Weathers Wolsfelt, Margaret Wolsfelt, Peter Chapman Wolsfelt and Courtney Alice Wolsfelt; brother, Russell P. Chubb and wife Lee, sister, Rosamond C. Davis and husband Edward all of Thomasville; niece, Rebecca Chubb Sanford; nephews, Thomas C. Chubb, Christopher C. Chubb, Jonathan Young, Geoffrey Young and Walker Davis; and 11 great grand nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by granddaughter Virginia Hopper Wolsfelt.
