Services for Mary Lou Mallard Hurst, 96 of Thomasville, are at 1:00PM on Friday at the Rose City Church of God. Rev. Gerald Horne and Rev. Tony Walker will officiate and interment is in Laurel Hill. Pallbearers will be Johnny Wayne Hurst, Jerry Wayne Hurst, Donnie Hurst, Ken Willis, Benji Hurst and Joe Sorbello. Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Hurst, P. J. Willis, Sammy Willis and Jeffrey Hurst. Mrs. Hurst was born November 2, 1909, in Mitchell County, Ga., to the late Roscoe Mallard and Lula Rebecca Clayton. She was a homemaker, and a member of the Church of God in Coolidge. On January 31, 1936, in Camilla, Ga., she married Jessie Paul Hurst, who preceded her in death in 1983. Mrs. Hurst died October 17, 2006, at Brynwood Nursing Home in Monticello, FL. Survivors include sons and daughters in law, Leroy and Betty Hurst of Thomasville, Jerry and Linda Hurst Sr. of Thomasville, and Johnny and Debra Hurst of Thomasville and son Earl Hurst of Thomasville; daughter and son in law Jean and Fred Friedrich of Ohio, and daughter Linda Regan of Pavo. Also surviving are 24 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Jeren Hasty, who died in 1999 at the age of 60.
