Rickey Paul Mercer

Please join friends and family at the graveside service for Rickey Paul Mercer (61) of East Hartford, CT at 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Brother Gerald Horne will officiate and local musician, Danny Woods will provide specially chosen music. Rick passed away peacefully at home February 7, 2014 after a brave 3 year fight with cancer. He is the oldest son of Hubert Paul (deceased) and Jimmie Lou Mercer of Thomasville. Kathleen Marie Mercer, Rick’s wife of 20 years is bringing him home to be laid to rest next to his dad. Rick leaves behind his oldest son, Shane Paul Mercer and Shane’s daughter, Jenah Dawn Mercer of Thomasville; his youngest son, Ryan Paul Mercer of Florida State University; his sister, Patricia Ann Mercer of Boca Raton, Fl and Pat’s daughter, Jordan Rebecca Naibert of Mooresville, NC, as well as, Jordan’s boyfriend, David Smith of Mooresville, NC; his younger brother, Ronny Dale Mercer of Thomasville; his sisters-in-law, Patty and JoAnn McManus of San Francisco, CA and JoAnn’s boyfriend, Tom White of San Francisco, CA; and last but not least, his loyal Golden Retriever, Sophie Belle Mercer of East Hartford, CT. Many other relatives, friends, neighbors and co-workers will miss Rick dearly. Following the service at Laurel Hill Cemetery, a luncheon will be hosted at Rose City Church of God, 2750 North Pinetree Blvd, Thomasville, Ga 31792.
