Services for Robert E Lamb, 95, of Thomasville, Ga., will be held at the Eastside Baptist Church at 2 pm on Sunday, August 11, 2024, with Pastor Sean Jacobs and Pastor Emeritus Tim Robson. The service livestream can be viewed here:

Interment will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Pastor Mike Hanscon will officiate the graveside services. A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024, from 5-7 pm at Allen & Allen Funeral Home. Mr Lamb went home to be with the lord on August 8, 2024, at Legacy Village. Born April 11, 1929, in Galion, Ohio, he was the son of the late Homer H Lamb and Blossom M Laughbaum Lamb. He was married to the lovely Dorothy M Lamb who went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 6, 2013. Mr Lamb served in World War II in the occupation of Japan. After his discharge, he worked 11 years on the NYC Railroad, then 30 years as a Corrosion Specialist and Consultant for the Columbia Gas Co. He worked at Archbold Memorial Hospital for 11 years as a Lobby Tech, then volunteered there for 12 years.
The Lambs were members of the Eastside Baptist Church in Thomasville, GA, where Mr Lamb was a deacon for 25 years. He loved his Sunday School Class, which he taught for many years. He played on many baseball and softball teams after his release from the army. After moving to Georgia in 1988, he continued to be an avid Ohio State football and basketball fan.
He and his wife were both saved on February 23, 1964. Now he will meet his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ along with his devoted wife and many friends who went to heaven before him.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Travis Gibbs of Thomasville, and daughter Kelly Lamb; Grandchildren Amber Niswonger, Caden Floyd, Lindsay cundiff, and Mia Bowdle, and several great grandchildren, as well as a sister Margaret Holland of Albertsville, Alabama. He was preceded in death by son Jeffery Lamb of Panama City, and sisters June Washlohn of Erie, PA, and Shirley Sheldon of North Canton, Ohio.
