Services for Rudy C. Hardman will be held at Allen & Allen Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville Georgia, Friday September 18, 2015, 2:00PM. Howard Floyd will officiate. Mr. Hardman was born September 16, 1930 to the late Justin and Etta Hardman in Charleston, West Virginia. He “graduated to glory” on September 12, 2015 at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, Georgia. He was a 1949 graduate of Stonewall Jackson High in Charleston, West Virginia. He was a talented trombone player in the band and played on the basketball team. In 1954, he received his Bachelors of Pharmacy degree from the University of West Virginia. After college he served in the Air Force for two years as second lieutenant at Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne, Wyoming. On April 8, 1955, he married his beautiful wife of sixty years, Wanda L. Rutledge of Charleston, West Virginia. In 1959, they moved to Plantation, Florida where he worked as a pharmacist for the next fifty years. He was an active member of Central Baptist Church, now called Plantation Baptist Church for twenty-seven years and later joined First Baptist Church of West Hollywood. In 2006 they moved to Thomasville, Georgia and joined First Baptist Church of Thomasville. He was a dedicated and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Throughout his life he enjoyed music, playing tennis, swimming, bike riding, gardening, playing horse shoes, investing his finances and being in the company of family and friends. Mr. Hardman was known as having a likeable sense of humor with intelligent wit, always giving and content, putting the needs of others before his own. He was friendly to everyone, humble, wise and most of all loved unconditionally. Survivors include his wife, Wanda Hardman, of Thomasville; daughter Victoria Spangler and husband, Jim of Thomasville; daughter, Kimberly Bartnick and husband, Jeff of Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, Florida; son, Charles Hardman and wife, Kitty of Thomasville; granddaughters, Kimberly Jones and husband, Ricky of Ocala, Florida; Apryl McClellan and husband Matt of Thomasville; Noel Bartnick of Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, Florida; grandson Charles Hardman, II and wife, Grace of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; great grandchildren, America, Chapter, Paisley, Capewell, Jack and Carly; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Hardman of Nitro, West Virginia; brother, the late Jarrell Hardman; sister, the late, Gloria Stanley and husband Bill.
