George Henry Adams

May 1, 1957 — September 6, 2023

George Henry Adams was born at Archbald Memorial Hospital, Thomasville, GA
on May 1, 1957 to Floyd J Adams and Dora F, nee Christie. His father was active
duty military and they moved with the Air Force to Arizona, Montana, Bermuda,
Virginia and Cairo, GA; then to Belton, MO, where Floyd retired from the military
in 1972 and moved the family back to Cairo, GA.
George joined the Army in Jan 1978, and was honorably discharged in Aug 1980.
He served as a watercraft engineer. He came back to GA and lived in several cities
before settling down in Cairo, where he lived from 1988 till his death on Sep 6,
2023. He worked for the State of FL as a maintenance man in the Collins and the
Gray State Government Bldgs. in Tallahassee, where he retired.
He was quite a joker and could really spin a tale. He had the memory of an
elephant. It was hard to get away when he started talking. He enjoyed walking,
fishing, and reading, as well as music, and meeting new people. It was often said
that George had never met a person he couldn't talk to and get to know.
George was engaged to Maria Christina, of Batangas, Philippines. He was
preceded in death by his Mom and Dad, and brother Donnie. Surviving him are his
brother Chris, of North Bend, OR and sister Debbie (Michael) Robertus, of Wichita
Falls, TX; 7 nieces and nephews; 13 grand nieces and nephews; and 7 great-grand
nieces and nephews.
He had requested to be cremated and his ashes will be scattered over the farm.

Rest in Peace, George!
