Hank Rogers,75 of Thomasville, passed away on April 13, 2025. He was born on January 28, 1950, in Thomasville, Georgia, to the late Mallotte Rogers and Janelle Williams Hurtado. Hank was a proud member of the community, known for his friendly nature and dedication to his work. Professionally, Hank worked for the City of Thomasville, as well as dedicating numerous years to his role at Henderson’s. There, he became a well-known figure, appreciated by both colleagues and customers for his warm personality and excellent service. Hank loved all sports and was a huge supporter of the Thomasville Bulldogs, Georgia Bulldogs and New York Yankees, He fondly cheered for the Duke Blue Devils and the Boston Celtics during the Larry Bird era. For over 30 years, Hank was an integral part of the Thomasville High School football broadcast on WPAX radio. Nicknamed the Wise Man, he was legendary for his emotional and many times humorous comments and insights especially about college football. In his free time, he enjoyed bowling, cherishing the fun that the game brought with it. Hank was a member of First Baptist Church of Thomasville and a past director and past president of the Thomasville Touchdown Club.
He is survived by his siblings Keith Hurtado of Tallahassee, FL, Glynis Hyde of Mobile, AL, and Vic Hurtado of Ormand Beach, FL, followed by numerous cousins. Hank is also survived by his pets who he loved dearly and considered his children: dogs Dooley, Landers, Piper, Kelco and cat Marshall Dillon.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Allen & Allen Celebration of Life Chapel with Dr. Jimmy Clanton, Robert Young and Martha Sue Carter officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the service.
