Memorial mass for James H. Lawson, 80 of Thomasville will be held 2: pm, Friday, March 2, 2012 at St. Augustine Catholic Church. Father Mark Van Alstine will officiate. Mr. Lawson passed away February 28, 2012 at his residence. Born April 2, 1931 in Sewell, NJ, he was the son of the late James W. Lawson and Hannah James Lawson. He was married to Gloria Marie Italiano Lawson who survives. Mr. Lawson was a Navy veteran who served 4 years in the Korean War on the USS Ingersol; was a NRA life member; he was a 20 year partner in hope with St. Jude's Research Hospital; he traveled around the world and visited 49 states; he always told friends as they were leaving "keep your britches between the ditches"; when asked how he was, he always replied "fine as frog hair" and always referred to Gloria as better 7/8's. Other survivors include daughter Linda Marie Lawson Cubitt and husband Ron of Thomasville; granddaughter, Kelley Paige Lawson; brother, Bill Lawson and wife Diane of Thomasville; nephews and nieces, Robert Italiano, NM, Frank Italiano of FL, Brad Lawson of Savannah, Shannon Balfour of Thomasville, Joseph Italiano of NJ, Susan Italiano of FL, Lynn Italiano of NJ, John Lawson of FL and Larry Lawson of FL.
