On Sunday, June 16, 2013, Kimberley Friend Shepard walked through the gates of heaven to be with her heavenly Father.
While on this earth, Kimberley was limited by her disabilities, but she is now running and dancing with her friend Jesus and her beloved grandma. Kimberley's life was a testimony to Jesus. He laughed through her, He loved through her, and He lived through her. She was always concerned that others know Jesus like she knew Jesus. She wanted everyone to know He was the center of her life. She blessed all those with whom she came in contact.
Kimberley loved to do art projects, listen to praise music, play Tetris and watch preaching on television. She also loved long walks stopping to talk to friends and strangers she met along the way. Her favorite outing was to Walmart, not to shop, but to see people. She was the first to catch the meaning of a joke, and was known for her signature phrases, "Hallelujah!" & "I love you!" Her warm hugs will be remembered and greatly missed.
Kimberley is survived by her loving and devoted mother, MaryFriend Shepard of Thomasville, Georgia; her father, Darrell Shepard of Columbus, Ohio, and her two brothers, Kip Shepard of Plano, Texas; and John Shepard of Lawrenceville, Georgia. She was dearly loved by her aunts and uncles, Jim & Beverley Stewart Armstrong of Houston, Texas, and David and Nancy Stewart of Friendswood, Texas. Kimberley loved her cousins – Mark and Lindsay Armstrong Douglas and daughter Logan of Atlanta, Georgia; Stewart and Sarah Armstrong, and children Charis, Callaghan, and Joseph of Evansville, Indiana; Aaron and Kat Armstrong and son Caleb of Dallas, Texas; Micah Armstrong of Houston, Texas; Robert and Tracey Stewart and sons Ryan and Landon of Mobile, Alabama; Bill and Lorna Stewart and son Liam of Tallahassee, Florida; and Matt and Linnea Stewart and children Christian and Aubrey of St. Petersburg, Florida.
Kimberley's family and friends will celebrate her life on Wednesday, June 19th at 10:30am at New Covenant Church, 48 Patterson Still Spur East, Thomasville, Georgia 31757. Interment will follow the service. Visitation will be at Allen and Allen Funeral Home, 110 West Hansell Street, Thomasville, Georgia 31792 from 6 pm - 8 pm on Tuesday evening.
