Paula Jarrett

December 1, 1938 — March 13, 2025

Paula Braddy Jarrett passed away on March 13, 2025, after a lengthy illness. She was born in Pavo, GA, on December 11, 1938, to Hazel Crosby Braddy and Nelson Rehm Braddy. She graduated from Thomasville High School in 1956 and from the University of Georgia in 1960, where she was a member of the Phi Kappa Phi honor society. She later obtained certification in library science after teaching in elementary schools for several years.

She married Eugene C. Jarrett, who survives in Pavo, GA, on July 14, 1957, and was proud of their 67 years of marriage. During his completion of medical school and residency, they resided in Augusta, GA, then moved to Dalton, GA, for his practice. Later, they returned to Augusta, then to Thomasville in 1973. During these moves, she continued teaching and was a school librarian. Upon arrival in Thomasville, she taught at St. Thomas Episcopal kindergarten. She was involved with her church, St. Thomas Episcopal, and several other community activities, including DAR. Later, she decided to become involved in real estate and was successful with her own ventures and as a real estate agent with Chubb Associates for a number of years until her retirement. After retirement, she and her husband enjoyed traveling together with friends, especially attending numerous Elderhostel's around the country.

She had two sons, Dr. Jeffrey Ross Jarrett (Silvia) and Dr. Christopher Alan Jarrett (Amy), who survive. She was an excellent mother, loved her family, and was very devoted to them. She had two grandchildren, Thomas Coleman Jarrett and Levin Rhea Jarrett, and a loving step-granddaughter Sailor Gintz all of whom survive. Paula is also survived by her half brother, Nelson Braddy (Jaelyn) of Dallas, Texas. She loved taking the children to the beach in St. Augustine, FL, and to the farm for fun times. She loved cooking and especially having large extended family gatherings at the farm on holidays; July 4, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

The family would like to thank the staff at Woodleaf Assisted Living, Dr. Jackson Hatfield, Deacon Scott Mithen, Fr. Wallace Marsh, and Georgia Hospice Care for their care and attention to her needs.
