Preston Shiver

Graveside services for Preston Shiver, 73, of Quitman, will be 10:00AM, on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at Midway Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Tim Phillips will officiate the service. Mr. Shiver passed away on July 7, 2015 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Born January 25, 1942 in Pavo, he was the son of the late Green and Leacy Luke Shiver. Mr. Shiver was a veteran of the United States Army and he loved to grow flowers and raise quail. Mr. Shiver was married to Martha Hickey Shiver, who survives. Other survivors include son and daughter-in-law Lavone and Kim Shiver of Boston; daughter Michelle Shiver of Thomasville; grandchildren Anthony and wife Nikki Shiver and Zachary Shiver; sisters Joyce Willis of Cairo, Betty Benton of Thomasville, Christine Kirkland of Baconton, Georgia and Linda Holland of Thomasville; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brother Ralph Shiver and sisters Pauline Benton and Earline Register. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at 6PM until 8PM.
