Graveside services for Robert Lee McGee, Sr., 96, of Thomasville, GA, will be at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at 2nd Street, Laurel Hill Cemetery, 901 Jackson Street, Thomasville, Georgia, with Floyd White, Thomasville First Methodist Church, officiating.
Born July 18, 1928, in Thomasville, Georgia, he was the son of the late Charles Edwin McGee and Emma Miller McGee. He retired from C&S Bank and Metcalf Lumber. He has resided at Southern Pines Senior Living Center, 423 Covington Avenue, Thomasville, GA.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church, and later a member of Morningside United Methodist Church both of Thomasville, GA.
On June 3, 1951, he married Ann Linson, and they began building a life together.
Survivors are daughters Ann M. Carmichael (Harris M.), Linda M. Herndon (Ray), sons Robert L. McGee, Jr. (deceased) and Charles Gregory McGee; Grandchildren Harris M. Carmichael, Jr.; Charles L. Carmichael (Mandi); Kimberly Elliott Hand (Jason); Kendra Reeves; Adam McGee, Kelly McGee, John Herndon (Jessica); Katie Herndon Pope (Kevin); 12 Great Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years Ann L. McGee, brother Edwin McGee, sisters Ula Jarrett, and Rebecca Richardson; son Robert Lee McGee, Jr., and grandson Daniel Lee McGee.
As a testimony to all of us, he lived out his faith in life and his close walk with the Lord. He was a father who rejoiced in his children and enjoyed playing and entertaining each child, grandchild and great grandchild. His home was always one of love and security. He has been a perfect example of fatherhood for all his children to emulate. His marriage has been a shining example of devotion, love and commitment. His humor and love of life was evident to all his family and friends. He will be sorely missed but we know with certainty he is reaping his rewards in Heaven with the love of his life, Ann, and His Savior.
