Sylvia Jean Wilson

Funeral services for Sylvia Jean Wilson, 73, of Ochlocknee will be held 2:00PM on Thursday, June 25, 2015 at The Connection Assembly of God in Thomasville, where she was a member. Pastor Jason Puckett and Pastor Brent Welch will officiate and interment will be at Little Ochlocknee Cemetery. Mrs. Wilson passed away on June 23, 2015. Born May 21, 1942 in Ochlocknee, she was the daughter of Henry Joshua Benton, and Louise Simpson Benton, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Wilson loved the Lord and had a special talent by praying for people in need. She was a loving wife, mamma, and nana. She also made cakes for the community. She married A.D. Wilson, Jr., who survives. On June 10th, they were married for 55 years. Other survivors include son and daughter-in-law Donald and Missy Wilson of Ochlocknee; daughter and son-in-law Tina and Ken Hickey of Meigs; grandchildren Sommer and Riley Peel; Brandon and Heather Hickey, Amber Wilson, Donna Wilson and Sarah Wilson; great grandchild Kaleb Hickey; brother and sister-in-law Charles and Betty Benton; sisters and brothers-in-law Betty and Gene Rhoden all of Ochlocknee and Janice and Brad Becknell of Florida; sister Polly Condon of Monroe, Georgia; sister-in-law Barbara Benton of Ochlocknee; several nieces and nephews and Sylvia’s loving puppy, Dixie. She was preceded in death by her brother Billy Benton and sister Sadie Golden. The family will receive friends 5PM – 7PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.
