William Lewis Clark, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2025, at the age of 81. Born in Thomasville, Georgia, on July 3, 1943, he was the son of the late Andrew Branson and Eurice Clark. William dedicated his life to agriculture, proudly working as a self-employed farmer.
An avid outdoorsman, William spent countless hours hiking the Appalachian Trail and enjoyed all kinds of hunting. His love for the outdoors was rivaled only by his loyalty to the Auburn Tigers, where he fiercely supported his team throughout the years.
William leaves behind his devoted wife, Joyce Clark, with whom he shared a life filled with love and laughter. He is survived by his sons, Michael Lewis Clark (Becky) of Coolidge, Georgia, and John Clark (Taylor) of Thomasville; as well as his treasured grandchildren, Danielle Marie Martin (Ben), Austin Clark (Aubri), Joe Clark, and Natalie Clark. He was also a proud great-grandfather to Lee, Scarlett, Toby, Silas, and Heidi Martin, and James Clark. William is survived by his siblings: Andrew Branson Clark (Alice Faye) of Thomasville and Mary Etta of Dalton, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Jane Lewis.
A graveside service will be held at Laurel Hill Cemetery on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 10:00 am. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 7, 2025, from 5-7 pm at the Allen & Allen Celebration of Life Chapel.
