Alice C. Eddins died October 1, 2019 in Ft. Pierce, Florida at the age of 89. Alice was born on July 9, 1930 in Thomasville, Georgia. She grew up in Jacksonville, Florida where she graduated from Andrew Jackson High School in 1948. Alice earned a Master's Degree in Music from Florida State University in 1958. She married John Eddins of Panama City, Florida and later divorced. Alice is survived by her sister, Jo Ellen P. Willes.
Alice was devoted to music. She spent many summers at the Primitive Baptist Camp where she promoted and nurtured the youth through music and worship. Birdwood College, now Thomas University, was where she dedicated her talents to encouraging others through music. Alice followed her love of music to the University of Illinois where she taught and performed for 30 plus years.
Alice retired and returned to Thomasville where she lived with her sister. During this time, she gave piano lessons, enjoyed living on the farm, and always supported the musical arts.
Funeral Service will be held at Allen and Allen Chapel on Monday, Oct. 14, 2019 at 2:00 pm.
Graveside Service at 5:00 pm at Fredonia Baptist Church on Fredonia Road.
