Graveside services for Daisy Clyde Tatum Hester, 90, of Thomasville will be held 10:00 am, Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at Laurel Hill Cemetery on Florida St. The Rev. Don West will officiate. Mrs. Hester slipped peacefully from the earthly bounds of her physical body into the hands of Jesus on June 6, 2010. Born March 13, 1920, in Poulville, Al, she was the daughter of the late Rufus King Tatum and Sarah Hattie Tatum. She was a long time homemaker and beloved mother of seven children, six of whom survive. Mrs. Hester was well known throughout the community as Granny , Ms. Daisy , and Aunt Clyde . She was preceded in death by husbands Paul Tucker and W.J. Hester. Survivors include children, Richard P. Tucker of Thomasville, Helen Tucker Flowers and husband Jimmy of Seale Al, Reid Tucker and wife Bonnie of Cairo, Joe Hester and wife Paula of Boston, James R. Hester and wife Robin of Pavo, and Sharon Cissy Hester Lowe and husband Bobby of Thomasville; grandchildren, Mark Tucker, Angel Tucker, Pam Tucker Sapp, Hank Flowers, Penny Flowers Thornton, Heidi Tucker, Hope Tucker Gardner, Jason Hester and Amanda Grainger; 12 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by a son, William Tatum Tucker and daughter-in-law, Irma Jean Royal Tucker. The family will receive friends 7-9 pm on Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at Allen & Allen Funeral Home.
