Deborah “Debbie” Ann Kelley, a beloved mother, Grnnana/Ganna/Gaga, sister, and aunt passed away peacefully on April 23, 2022, surrounded by family. Born on November 12, 1958, in New London, Connecticut, Debbie grew up in Thomasville and attended Thomas County Central High School. She achieved paramedic and respiratory therapist licensure and graduated from Thomas University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and a minor in marketing. She led successful careers as a paramedic, respiratory therapist, and an emergency preparedness and response professional. As a paramedic, Debbie received multiple lifesaving awards and medals of valor. She is survived by her daughters, Brittanney Mills (Derren), Erin Smeltzer (Will), her siblings Carol Kelley Goodson and Jim P. Kelley; her nieces Addison, Carsyn and Kinsey Kelley, Leah Goodson, and Selita Myrick; her nephews Brennan Goodson and Alex Kelley; her grandchildren Connor, Natalie, Ellis, and Bennett and numerous beloved cousins. She is preceded in death by her mother and stepfather Barbara and John Foy; her father Bernard Kelley, and her brothers Tracey and Steve Kelley. Debbie devoted her life to helping others, whether in her career, through her relationships with her family, or just by being an amazing friend. She walked into situations to help people that most others would run from. Through her unwavering kindness and grace in every situation, Debbie was a cornerstone for so many who were fortunate enough to experience her unconditional love and compassion. She had the most beautiful laugh and enjoyed sharing her love of humor with others. Although she will be missed by all who loved her, Debbie leaves behind a legacy that truly makes this world more beautiful.
