Frances Evelyn Campbell

December 22, 1930 - February 12, 2022

Frances Sinback Campbell of Thomasville passed away peacefully on February 12, 2022. Born December 22, 1930, in Birmingham, Alabama, to John L. and Willie G. Sinback, she was 91 years old. Raised in Hampton, Georgia, she graduated from Wesleyan College and worked at the State of Georgia Water Laboratory. She relocated to Albany where she taught Science at Albany High School. On August 18, 1956, she married Clifford S. Campbell, Jr., and became a homemaker, raising two sons and supporting Mr. Campbell in his banking career. After the couple’s relocation to Thomasville in 1968, the family joined First United Methodist Church, and Mrs. Campbell became known as a community volunteer, golfer and friend. A breast cancer survivor, she often spoke to assemblies of female high school students on the importance of recognizing the signs and symptoms of cancer. She enjoyed spending time at the family’s house in Highlands, North Carolina. Mrs. Campbell is survived by her sons, William Clay Campbell (Frances) of Thomasville and Richard S. Campbell (Lori) of Valdosta; five grandchildren, William Clay Campbell Jr. (Amy) of Long Beach, California; Henry Arnall Campbell (Rainey) of Thomasville; Frances Catherine Campbell of Atlanta; and Emma Claire Campbell and Lily Kate Campbell, both of Valdosta; four great-grandchildren, Mary Cole Campbell, Henry Arnall Campbell, Jr. and Callen Blair Campbell of Thomasville; and Charlotte Holland Campbell of Long Beach; and a niece, Pam Browning (Mike) of Jackson, Georgia. Mrs. Campbell was predeceased by her husband, her parents and her sister, Edna Martin. A private interment is planned, with a memorial service to be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Thomasville or the Archbold Foundation.
