George Earl Cox

Graveside services for George Earl Cox, 70 of Thoamsville will be held Tuesday at 2:00PM on 12th Street in Laurel Hill Cemetery . The Rev. Kevin Odom will officiate. Pallbearers will be his grandchildren, Lee Evans, Thomas Jones, Darby B. Evans, Amanda Merritt, Tim Evans, Donny Merritt and Olivia Jones. Mr. Cox died May 17, 2009 at his residence surrounded by his children. Born on January 11, 1939 in Tampa he was the son of the late George E. and Bessie Coffee Cox. Mr. Cox served his country from 1956-1959 in the United States Air Force. Survivors include a son, Christopher Earl Cox of Thomasville; a daughter and son-in-law, Richard and Cynthia Bonner of Valdosta; daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Tom Jones of Barwick; brother and sister-in-law, Edwin and Nancy Cox of Thomasville; 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, Kelsey Rae Evans and Logan Chance Evans. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Dorothy Cogland. In Lieu of flowers please make donations to a Hospice Organization.
