Graveside services for James E. Culp, 85 of Thomasville will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, September 10, 2020 at Laurel Hill Cemetery on Tennessee Street. Pastor, Mike Hanscom will officiate. Mr. Culp passed away September 8, 2020 at Camellia Gardens. Born February 27, 1935 in Clanton, Alabama, he was the son of the late Julius Culp and Iris Baker Culp. He was married in 1957 in Thomasville to Dorothy Beaty Culp. He was a veteran of the United States Army and worked for the City of Thomasville Fire Department for 33 years. He was a member of East Side Baptist Church, loved the Atlanta Braves, was an avid Alabama fan, and loved to fish. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; children, Jeff Culp and wife Becky of Tallahassee, Fl, Donna Whiddon and husband Randy of Thomasville, Tina Glass and husband Robby of Thomasville, Scott Culp and wife Jennifer of Pelham and step-son, Ben Westmoreland and wife Cel of Thomasville; 14 grandchildren;7 great-grandchildren and sisters, Clara Holman of Meridian, Blanche Ragan of Thomasville and Oma Yandle of Thomasville. He was preceded in death by parents; brother, JR Culp and sisters, Dorothy Pettigrew and Marion Norman.
