Graveside services for Nathan Morgan Thompson, Sr, 74 of Thomasville, Georgia will be held at 10:30 AM, Friday, July 10, 2015 at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia. Mr. Thompson passed away July 7, 2015 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Born November 22, 1940 in Gainesville, Florida, he was the son of the late Pierce J. Thompson and Ethel Chavers Thompson. He was married to Victoria Antar Thompson, who survives. He was a retired veteran of the United States Army/Air Force serving as Tech Sergeant; he served in the Secret Service under the Nixon Administration and was a member of the American Legion. Other survivors include his children, Nathan Morgan Thompson, Jr of Crestview, Florida, Sherry T. Byrd of Newnan, Georgia, Tamela Thompson Estrada of Savannah, Georgia and Regina Thompson Bell of Woodstock, Georgia; grandchildren, Nathan Morgan Thompson, III, Leah T. McNeill, William Steven Byrd, Jr, Samantha Ashley Thrash, Matthew James Higdon, Jonathan Edward Higdon, Lauren Elizabeth Higdon, Kristen Brianne Buckley, Savannah Lynn Bell and Shannon Marissa Bell; great-grandchildren, Michelle Leah McNeill, Bella Noel McNeill, Shiloh Aeiral McNeill, William Gunner Byrd and Adeline Mae Buckley; brothers, Perry J. Thompson of Missouri, Gilbert Thompson and Stanley Thompson, both of Marietta, Georgia.
