Renny Rudolph Davis, Jr., 52, died Sunday, April 20, 2008, in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fl. A graveside service will be held at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Thomasville, GA. on Thursday, April 24, 2008 at 2:00 pm. Allen & Allen Funeral Home of Thomasville, GA are in charge of the arrangements. Renny was born March 3, 1956, in Thomasville, GA, to Rudolph and Ann Reichert Davis. He graduated from Thomasville High School and attended Georgia Southern University. Having worked during high school at Davis Water & Waste Industries, Inc., he continued with that company and its successors. Renny never met a stranger. With his exceptional people skills and excellence in the marketing of products and services, he rose to become manager of the Jacksonville and Savannah branches of the company. He was headquartered in Jacksonville. Renny enjoyed hunting, boating and especially auto racing. He was an avid NASCAR fan. In his 30's, he became involved in amateur racing with the purchases and driving of a Legends series race car and a Legacies series race car. He joked that he chose the number "88" for his cars because it could be read even if he were upside down. Renny is survived by his mother, Ann; his brother Neel Davis, of Thomasville; his sister Deborah Davis Dugger husband Michael of Tallahassee; his constant friend Mary Ann Vaccaro, of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; nieces Neeley Davis of Thomasville and Meredith Dugger McMillan husband Daniel of Quincy; and nephews Haydon Davis of Thomasville and Davis Dugger of Tallahassee. He was preceded in death by his father, Renny Rudolph Davis, Sr.; maternal grandparents Neely John and Elizabeth Reichert; and paternal grandparents Jasper Claud, II and Annie Lester Davis.
