Services for Ronald Dean Hausmann, 61 of Thomasville will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, April 5, 2019 at Allen & Allen Funeral Home Chapel. Ron was born in Ft. Wayne, Indiana to the proud parents of Carol and Donald Hausmann on March 4, 1957. He enjoyed living his childhood in Miami with his sister Laura Wolfe, and brothers Dale and Joseph Hausmann. The family enjoyed campouts, hiking and swimming in all parts of the country and Ron grew up loving the water, the ocean, and the peaceful feeling of the outdoors. The water and outdoors were his “paradise on earth.” The family went to the unlimited hydroplane races and his love for boat racing became a part of him. With his love of the water and boats, the natural order was for Ron to race boats. He had a passion for his Allison and Triad boats that he raced for many years. In high school, he met the love of his life and married Kim Reese Hausmann in October, 1978. Ron enjoyed architectural drawing, building and making things so it was natural for him to go into a lifelong career of home construction. He went into business with his father-in-law, Jim Reese, and the start of Hausmann Homes was created in Thomasville, Georgia. A longtime resident in Thomasville, Ron helped to build and rebuild many homes and businesses. He was a skillful and hard-working man. His integrity and precise work earned him the respect of those around him. In his spare time (evenings or weekends) he helped to rebuild cars and boats, he was gifted in all mechanical functions. And when someone needed a helping hand, he was there to provide assistance. Ron shared his life with his best friend, Kim. A getaway weekend included family trips to Cherry Lake with his boats and water skiing. The circle of life included his sons Deric (Katie his wife) and Jereme Hausmann and grandsons, Malakai and Ezekiel. He was proud of his sons and his legacy will continue in their lives. In lieu of flower, the family requests that donations be made to Thomasville-Thomas County Humane Society, 180 Big Star Dr, Thomasville, GA 31757. The family will receive friends 5:30-7:30 pm, Thursday, April 4, 2019 at the funeral home. Please visit his online life tribute page at
