Wesley Ralph Wilford of Nashville, Tennessee passed away Friday, November 9, 2012 after a long illness. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, November 13, at 11 A.M. in Laurel Hill Cemetery. The Rev Marty Carnes will officiate. Wes was born November 4, 1957 in Albany, Ga. He was the son of Hilda Dunlap Delaney of Thomasville, Ga. and Sim O. Wilford, Sr. of Franklin, Tenn. His grandparents were the late Clifton C. and Deane Dunlap of Thomasville and the late J. Everette and Gladys Wilford, also of Thomasville. Wes graduated with highest honors from Henderson High School in Atlanta, Ga. He then attended Vanderbilt University and the University of Tennessee. During his teen years, he was very active in sports, church activities, and in Boy Scouts where he attained the rank of Eagle Scout and was also a member of the Order of the Arrow. He was a member of Briarcliff Baptist Church in Atlanta. Before his illness, he was employed by Comcast in customer service. He is survived by his mother Hilda Delaney and husband Gerald of Thomasville, his father Sim Wilford, Sr. and wife Dottie of Franklin, Tenn., brothers Sim Wilford, Jr. and wife Alex of Wake Forest, N.C., Brian Wilford and wife Sandy of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and David Wilford and wife Jenny of Flower Mound, Texas., nieces Ashley Wilford of Wake Forest, N. C., Olivia Wilford of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Blakely Wilford of Flower Mound, Texas., nephews Matthew Wilford of Wake Forest, N.C., Caleb and Brayden Wilford of Murfreesboro, Tenn. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 P.M. on Monday, November 12, 2012 at Allen & Allen Funeral Home.
