Services for A.D. (Pat) Watson, 81 of Thomasville will be held 11:00AM, Saturday, October 18, 2014 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Bishop Ben Smith will officiate and interment will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Mr. Watson’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Mr. Watson passed away October 14, 2014 at Plantation Manor. Born July 27, 1933 in Quitman, he was the son of the late William Matthew Watson and Clyde Virginia Hughes Watson. He is married to Frances H. Watson, who survives. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Carmen Genter Watson. Mr. Watson was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving in the Korean Conflict, was a retired mail carrier for the United States Postal Service. He was a founding member of the Thomasville branch of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, serving in many capacities in his life. He is also survived by his children, Dallas M. Watson, Sr and wife Ronnell of Thomasville, Deborah Estelle Peterson and husband Leon of Blackfoot, ID, Daniel E. Watson, Sr and wife Gail of Thomasville, Melodie Diane Barden and husband Karl of Meridianville, AL, Michelle Petersen and husband Jim of Gainesville, Ga and James Detrick (Rick) Watson and wife Nicole of Lindon, UT; 35 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and sisters, Billie Kowalczik of FL and Betty Wade and husband Darrell of UT.
