Services for Ada Elisa Butts, age 89, of Thomasville, Georgia will be held on Saturday, November 28th at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Augustine Catholic Church. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Ada passed away peacefully on Wednesday evening, November 25th. Born in Cidra, Puerto Rico she was the daughter of Jose Concepcion and Josefa Concepcion de Leon. She is survived by her husband of 59 years Richard Butts whom she met and married during his assignment with the United States Army at Fort Brooke, Puerto Rico in 1956. She is also survived by five children, Addie (Bob) Salvano, Nelson (Rachel) Noriega, Debi (Tom) Garland, Grace Butts and Charles (Deborah) Butts. Her grandchildren include Joel Turner, Robert Turner, Joseph Noriega, Faith Noriega Price, Danielle Roberson Kaiser, Morgan Murphy, Ashley Sumner, and Lauren Thompson. Also surviving are ten great grandchildren, two brothers, a sister, and numerous nieces and nephews. Following their move to Thomasville, Georgia in 1968, Ada was a member of the Thomasville Newcomers Club, a volunteer for both Southwestern State Hospital and the Thomasville Chapter of the March of Dimes. In later years after raising her five children she was employed with Joan Art Mills of Thomasville where she worked for 18 years. In retirement she was a member of the Council of Catholic Women of Saint Augustine Church. The family will receive friends at Allen & Allen Funeral Home on Friday, November 27th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to the charity of your choice.
