Agnes Clark Johnston
Services for Agnes Clark Johnston, 89, of Thomasville, are at 2 p.m., Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at First Baptist Church in the chapel. Interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Johnston found her perfect healing from the complications of Alzheimer's Disease on Feb. 20, 2010. A native of Pavo, she was born April 10, 1920 and was one of six children born to the late Steven Dalton and Mamie Owens Clark. She was married to the late Horace Cecil Johnston. She graduated from Pavo High School and had been employed by Warners in Thomasville. As Mr. Johnston's career took them to make their home
in Newnan, she worked as a lab technician at Newnan Hospital. She retired in 1986. It was during those happy years in Newnan that Agnes would welcome
another member into her happy household, as her daughter Sandra met and married Kenneth Wright. Agnes loved her family and was overjoyed as she
watched it grow over the years with the addition of her grandchildren Michael Kenneth and his wife Kristin Wright of Atlanta, Kristie Wright and
her husband Nick Dimarakis of Cumming, and her great grandchildren Thomas Manassas Wright and Sophia Wright. Agnes loved the life and activities of
her friends in Thomasville First Baptist Church and sang in the Young at Heart Choir. Following the death of Horace in 2000, Agnes made her home
with her daughter, Sandra, who provided her unwavering support as she faced her illness with Alzheimer's. As Kenneth and Sandra cared for her over these last years, they were able to remember the loving, happy person she had been as she went about the duties of her life and the devoted attention
she had given so many others. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Effie Clark Cox, Tessie Clark Gandy, Jeff Clark, Harold Clark and her beloved twin sister Alene Clark Dekle. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. before the service at First Baptist Church in the chapel. Visitors may sign the online guest register at www.allenfh.com .
