Albert Taylor Winn, 91, of Hahira, passed away on December 26, 2016 at Langdale Hospice House in Valdosta. Born April 2, 1925 in Thomasville, he was the son of the late Theodocius Davies Winn and Carrie Blanche Taylor Winn. In 1946, he graduated from Thomasville High School. He was married for 66 years to Roger Lee Gandy in 1950 in Dade City, Florida. In 1946, he enlisted in the Air Force. He served in World War II, Korean War and two tours in Vietnam. He served 30 years, 1 month and 2 days. After retiring from the United States Air Force, he started working at Lark in Valdosta in 1975. He worked there for 28 years before retiring. Survivors includes wife, Roger Lee Gandy Winn, children Lora Jo Canary and husband Larry of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Dr. John Emmett Winn of Auburn Alabama, Carrie Winn Yarborough and husband GySgt Ret. Fred of Hahira, daughter-in-law Brenda Kelley Winn of Valdosta; grandchildren, Angela Abeyta and husband Lawence of Denver, Colorado, Crystal Skiba and husband Jason of Buckeye, Arizona, Dr. Elizabeth Wawrek and husband Mike of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Mitchell Taylor Winn of Valdosta. He was preceded in death by infant sister, Carolyn Grace Winn; brother, Frank Winn; sister Fannett Castles; and son Albert Matthew Winn.
