Alice Elmina Hancock Vickers

Services for Alice Elmina Hancock Vickers, 89, of Thomasville, are at 2:00PM on Monday, April 14, 2008, at Fredonia Baptist Church, where she was a member. The Rev. Steve Wooten will officiate and interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Vickers died April 11 at Pelham Parkway Nursing Home. Born August 19, 1918 in Thomas Co., she was the daughter of the late John & Birdie Dixon Hancock. She was married to James Earl Vickers who preceded her in death December 22, 1973. Survivors include daughters & sons-in-laws, Nancy & Richard Jones of Cotton, Etta & Nabb Quinn of Atlanta, son & daughter-in-law, John & Sue Vickers of Iron City, son James R. Vickers of Leary, sister, Wynelle James of Sylvester, brother, Leon Hancock, Tallahassee, 12 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by daughter Faye Ross and sister Rosalyn Herring. The family will receive friends Sunday from 7-9 pm at the funeral home.
