Services for Alice Rebecca Becky Connell Wheeler, 93 of Thomasville will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at Dawson Street Baptist Church. Rev. Lee Waller and Dr. Tommy Kinchen will officiate. Ms. Wheeler passed away March 3, 2013 at Camellia Gardens. Born August 21, 1919 in Whigham, she was the daughter of the late Grover C. Connell and Ellie Vickers Connell. She was married to Thomas T. Wheeler who preceded her in death. Ms. Wheeler was a long time employee for Thomas Drug Store and was an active member of Dawson Street Baptist Church. She is survived by her children, Rebecca Ann Lucas and husband Norman of Gainesville, Fl, and Kathryn Bigham and husband Robert of Tillery, NC; 3 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; sisters, Rosa Whigham of Whigham; brothers, Bill Connell and wife Maurice of Reno, Frank Connell and wife Judy of Thomasville and numerous nieces and nephews, whom she dearly loved. She was preceded in death by sister, Marjorie Chambliss and brothers, L.B. Connell and Earl Connell.
