Funeral services for Allyne Clark Hubbard will be at Dawson Street Methodist Church at 2:30pm on Sunday, June 8, 2004. The Rev. Bob Hall and Rev. Carl Howard will officiate with interment at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta. She was born December 3, 1926 in Suwannee County, Fl. She was the youngest child of the late John E. Clark and Lula Elizabeth Parker Clark. She passed from this life at her home on Thursday, June 3, 2004. Allyne graduated from Live Oak High School Florida School in 1943, and moved to Atlanta, GA. to work for Bell Aircraft while attending business school. On April 26, 1946, in Fayetteville, Georgia, she married James K. Hubbard and they were blessed with three children: Ken, Libby, and Sharon. Allyne worked at Aloe Medical Supply Company until Mr. Hubbard was transferred to Thomasville as district manager of Southern Bell in 1962. They joined Dawson Street United Methodist Church at that time. She has been an active member for over 40 years, living her deep faith daily. Allyne has served as UMW president, district vice president, Sunday school teacher, and in the church office. She is loved throughout her church family for her always cheerful disposition, caring nature, and giving spirit. Allyne has been an active member of the Briarcliff Garden Club for over 40 years, serving as president for two years and treasurer for over 30 years. Her love of gardening is well known to all who loved her, and she found no task more pleasurable than working in her yard and garden, enjoying God?s beauty. She was a 25 year member of the Thomasville Women?s Club, serving as president, vice president, 3rd vice president, and treasurer. Allyne enjoyed an active bridge club for over thirty years that included Mrs. Hetty Parks, Mrs. Ruth Sons, and Mrs. Ann Ring. She will be greatly missed by her family, beloved Sunday school teacher, Mrs. Willie Weeks, and her special friends: Mr. Dudley Moore Sr., Mrs. Betty Butler, and Mrs. Ruth Sons. Allyne was preceded in death by her beloved husband, parents and eleven siblings. She is survived by her three children, James K. Cindy Hubbard Jr., Elizabeth H. King, and Sharon H. Roland Fetgatter, four grandchildren, Mendy K. Skip Thoming, James E. King, Kurt J. Fetgatter, Jennifer L. Hubbard, and three great grandchildren, James A. Thoming, Ashlee E. Thoming, and Christopher G. Thoming. Allyne was a living witness of God?s love, and a shining example of not only how to live an abundant life, but of how to accept life?s pitfalls with amazing grace. Throughout her illness she remained secure in God?s plan for her and His perfect timing.
