Services for Alma Jean Eleanor Carter Driggers, 57, of Thomasville, are at 10 a.m., Friday, September 11, 2009, at Allen & Allen Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Larry Harris will officiate. Mrs. Driggers died September 8, 2009 in Lake City, Fla. Born Feb. 8, 1952, in Thomas County, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Albert and Elouise Starling Carter. On Nov. 4, 2006, in Pensacola, she married Albert L. Driggers, who survives. She was the backbone of her family, which was the apple of her eye. She helped everyone she could. Survivors include children, Melissa Compton of Thomasville, Henry Curtis Ansley III of Cairo, Robin Driggers of Tennessee; grandchildren, Branden Compton, Brett Compton, Chelsea Kindred, Jacob Lamb and Hayleigh Jean Driggers; special cousins, Wynelle Adams, Dale Baker, Ricky Whidden, Donda Hurst and Kay Whidden; sister-in-law, Geraldine Arvai; brothers-in-law, Albert Driggers and Joey Driggers. She was preceded in death by sisters, Marilyn Newsome and Carolyn Smith. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, c/o Vicki Lutes, P.O. Box 1999, Thomasville, Ga. 31799. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. ? 8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
