Alton Scott Dunlap, Jr

Funeral services for Alton Scott Dunlap, Jr., 53, of Thomasville will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, July 26, 2024 at the Allen & Allen Celebration of Life Chapel. Pastor James Miller will officiate and interment will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Mr. Dunlap passed away July 22, 2024 in Valdosta. Born September 5, 1970 in Thomasville, he was the son of the late Alton Scott Dunlap, Sr and Teru Takada Dunlap. He was a veteran of the US Navy. He was an avid Georgia Bulldog and Atlanta Braves fan, he loved being on the water, jet skiing and deep-sea fishing and loved going to country music concerts. He has worked as a car salesman and was currently a sales associate at Stones of Thomasville. He is survived by his sisters and brother, Amy McLendon (Ed) of Thomasville, Karen Dunlap of Thomasville, Sandy Stegall (John) of Thomasville, Sue Dunlap (Mike Overmyer) of Monument, CO; Neil Dunlap (Shelley) of Thomasville; nieces & nephews, Kimberly McLendon, Chad Parramore, Barry Stegall (Lacey), Ben Stegall, Amanda Dunlap, Victoria Hopkins (Matthew), Jason Adkison, Jacob Overmyer, Kayla Overmyer and Gabriel Overmyer; great nieces and nephews, Finn Stegall, Braylee Stegall, Jacob Stegall, Charlie Santorno, Wyatt Santorno, Decklyn Santorno, Cambria Hopkins, Jacob Hopkins and Oliver Hopkins. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Doris Ann Dunlap and niece, Angela Adkison. The family will receive friends 5:00pm - 7:00pm, Thursday, July 25, 2024 at the funeral home.
