Alzier Leone Cowan Wilham

Alzier Leone Cowan Wilham, 93, of Thomasville, Georgia, passed away on April 26, 2014, in Thomasville, Georgia. She was born on September 17, 1920, in Kingston, Jamaica, BWI, to the late Allan Eugene Cowan and Gladys Benjamin Cowan. She grew up on Caymanas Estates as her father was the Superintendent of Farms. While in Jamaica, Mrs. Wilham was a kindergarten teacher. She was accepted at Cambridge University in England, but never attended due to World War II. After World War II, she and her family immigrated to Cincinnati, Ohio in 1946, and became naturalized citizens of the United States. She was employed as a bookkeeper for Bickford Tools in Cincinnati until 1955. On September 24, 1955 in Norwood, Ohio, she married Roy Ollis Wilham, who predeceased her. She was a homemaker along with being a loving wife, mother, sister, and aunt, and will be greatly missed. She was very active in Trinity Anglican Church serving on the Altar Guild as director along with serving as the acolyte master for many years. She was predeceased by her sisters Gloria Pattison and Alma Young, and her brother Abe Cowan. Survivors include her son, Don Wilham and wife Patricia of Tallahassee, Florida; sister, Grace Pierce and husband Don of Lafayette, Colorado, sisters-in-law, Catherine (Mickie) Cowan of Shreveport, Louisiana and Marianne Wilham of Cleveland Heights, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8pm on Friday, May 2, 2014, at Trinity Anglican Church, 325 West Jackson Street, Thomasville, Georgia. Services will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2014, at 11am at Trinity Anglican Church, 325 West Jackson Street, Thomasville, Georgia. Rev. James Hobby and Rev. Sharon Hobby will officiate. Interment will be in Spring Grove Cemetery in Cincinnati, Ohio, on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at 11:00AM with Rev. Roger Foote officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity Anglican Church, 325 W. Jackson St, Thomasville, Georgia 31792. Guests may sign the online register at www.allenfh.com
