Amanda Elizabeth Brown Davis, 97, passed away on October 6, 2024 at Southern Pines Senior Living
Community, Thomasville, Georgia, of complications following a stroke
Elizabeth B. Davis was born in Panama City, Florida to Alex Brown and Mary Pearl Davis Brown. She attended Bay High School in Panama City and completed her formal education through the American Correspondence School. She worked as a telephone operator for Bell Telephone Company (Southern Bell) in Panama City during the 1940s and early 1950s.
She married her beloved husband, Willie Parker “Dave” Davis on July 9, 1946, enjoying 69 years together before his death on August 10, 2015. In 1959, they moved to Thomasville, Georgia, making it their permanent home. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in both Panama City and Thomasville. She enjoyed music, singing, sewing, crocheting, and especially reading classic mysteries and historical romances.
She is predeceased by sisters Odessa Day, Roma Boswell, Mozelle Hess, and a brother Frank Brown.
She is survived by one sister Vonceil “Cecil” Boswell and two daughters Pamela Marie Davis (Paul Lindsey) Arceneaux and Mary Elizabeth “Betsy” (Brandy Lynn) Davis, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 9th from 5-7 pm at Allen & Allen Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Heart Association in her memory.
