Andrew ("Andy") Gulyas a talented carpenter/woodworker, and beloved husband, peacefully transitioned on December 13, 2023 at his assisted living residence in Thomasville, Georgia. Born July 31, 1934 in Cleveland, Ohio to Helen and Julius Gulyas.
"Andy", as he liked to be called, began his journey in carpentry when he "Quituated" from high school after is sophomore year. He attended a cabinet making school and served an apprenticeship which honed his skill as a carpenter, eventually becoming a master craftsman in the building industry.
In Madison, Ohio, he worked under the banner of Gulyas Builder, Inc., and later after moving to Florida in 1985, partnered with David Hager where they specialized in large, custom homes.
"Andy" also had a passion for old cars, and along with his brother Julius, restored a 1952 FORD pickup truck and a 1940 FORD convertible.
Once retired he spent many hours in his workshop creating Windsor chairs, candle stands, low boys and a roll-top desk.
"Andy" and his "bride", Nancy ("Jodi"), were married in the Virgin Islands and celebrated 55 years of marriage.
Survivors are his wife "Jodi". Two daughters by marriage, Leah Cady (Dennis) of Tucson, Arizona and Celeste Cohen (Mark) of Lutz, Florida. Six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. One sister, Helen Haught (Wayne) Weimer, Texas.
