Funeral services will take place Monday 11am at First Baptist Church, with burial at Laurel Cemetery. The Reverend Dr. Milton C. Gardner will officiate. Ann Reichert Davis, an ever gracious and thoughtful daughter, wife, mother and friend, passed peacefully at home on Thursday, November 18, 2010, after a life devoted to her faith, her family, her friends, and to the enhancement of her community. Ann, daughter of the late Neeley John Reichert and Mary Smith, was born August 14, 1929 in Thomasville, Georgia, Mary died when Ann 4 years old. She was loving and devotedly raised by Elizabeth Beasley Reichert wife of Neeley John Reichert. She attended Boston High School, where she lettered in Girls' Basketball, and graduated as Valedictorian of her class. She attended Georgia State College for Women and graduated with a degree in Education. She married the late Renny Rudolph Davis, SR. of Thomasville on June 24, 1951. Together they created loving and happy home for family and friends. Ann was completely involved in her community through her children?s life?s, First Baptist church and Civic dedication. In the early years Ann?s time was spent with Cub Scott, Brownies, Sunday School teacher, PTA and Junior Service League. As her children grew so did her time in the community. She was active in Killarney Queen Garden Club, Thomasville Entertainment Foundation, Archbold Hospital and First Baptist Church. As a friend said ?Ann Davis was a life well-lived and a contribution highly valued?. She leaves to remember her life of love and dignity, her son, Neel D. Davis, of Thomasville; her daughter, Deborah Davis Dugger and son-in-law, Michael, of Tallahassee; her younger sister, Jonnie Reichert Pitts, and husband, Duane, of Odessa, Washington; grandchildren: Meredith Dugger McMillan, Neeley Elizabeth Davis, Davis Michael Dugger and Haydon Joseph Davis. She was predeceased by her elder son, Renny Rudolph Davis, Jr. and great grandson Sam Miller McMillan. In lieu of flowers the family request contributions be made to: Hospice of Southwest Georgia, American Cancer Society, American Heart Association or a charity of your choice. The family will receive relatives and friends 2 to 4pm Sunday at Mrs. Davis?s home. Guests may sign the online guest register at www.allenfh.com
