Anna Mae Howell, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2026, at the age of 91.

Born on April 17, 1935, in Flatwoods, Kentucky, Anna was the beloved daughter of Willard and Mary Hatten Nolan. She married the love of her life, Robert F. Howell, on June 21, 1952, and together they built a beautiful life filled with love, adventure, faith, and service to others.

For nearly two decades, Anna served as a docent at Pebble Hill Plantation, where she shared her passion for history with countless visitors. Earlier in her career, she worked as a secretary at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio, contributing to Project Blue Book. Later, while living in Marietta, Georgia, she and Bob founded Abundant Life Tours, providing senior adults from Roswell Street Baptist Church opportunities to explore destinations throughout the United States. After relocating to Thomasville, Georgia, Anna remained active in her community and continued the Abundant Life Tours program through First Baptist Church of Thomasville.

Anna is survived by her daughters, Cheryl "Cherie" Laster and husband Myron Laster of Acworth, Georgia, and Robin Petrick of Tallahassee, Florida. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Zachary Laster and wife Viivi Laster, Nicholas Laster, Alex Petrick, Kyle Petrick, Erik Petrick and wife, Taylor Petrick, and great-grandchildren, Onni Laster, Sisu Laster, Armo Laster, and Fallon Petrick.

Anna is further survived by her sister, Thelma Dillow of Flatwoods, Kentucky, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Robert Howell; and her sisters, Virginia LaMaster, Ruby Fisher, Phyllis Wells, and Mary Alice Spears.

A visitation will be held at Allen & Allen Funeral Home from 4:00 to 6:00 pm on Thursday, September 24, 2026. Anna will be laid to rest at Bellefonte Memorial Garden Cemetery in Flatwoods, Kentucky. The grave side service will be at 11:00 am, on October 8.

Anna's warmth, kindness, and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know and love her. Her legacy lives on through the family she cherished and the countless lives she touched throughout her remarkable journey.
