Anne Laurie Rogers, 65, of Thomasville, GA, passed peacefully to heaven on July 14, 2021 while at home from complications with cholangiocarcinoma. She courageously battled this cancer and was a pioneer through several of her treatments. Anne was born on April 30, 1956, at Reddington Fairview Hospital in Skowhegan, ME to Edward and Grace Grace; she was the youngest of three girls. She was raised in Hartland, ME and graduated from Nokomis Regional High School. She achieved a bachelor's degree and two master's degrees from Augusta College in Augusta, GA. She became a business education teacher, coordinator of the Cooperative Business Education Program, and sponsor of the Future Business Leaders of America at Evans High School. For ten years, she provided professional skills for on-the-job training and career guidance to her students. Anne later went on to be the guidance counselor for Westmont Elementary School for thirteen years before retiring in 2016 from the Columbia County school system. She was dedicated to helping her students, providing them with guidance and a loving heart. She especially loved giving Christmas gifts to families in need. Anne secretly would collect wish list items and would anonymously deliver them on Christmas Eve, with a phone call that Santa had arrived on the front porch. Helping others was one of the greatest joys in her life, and she embodied this sentiment both personally and professionally. In 1982, Anne married the love of her life Jon Rogers and went on to build a wonderful life with him until his passing in 2001. She later moved to Thomasville, Georgia and became involved in the community, joining the First Presbyterian Church. She had a big heart for children and also one for animals. She was a compassionate and loving friend to her family, coworkers, and friends. Anne is survived by her children, Ryan Patrick Doody (Andie) of Woodstock, GA and Ashley Rogers Packer (Nathan) of Thomasville, GA; her four grandchildren who were the light of her life: Preston Patrick Doody of Athens, GA; Andrew Patrick Doody of Indian Trail, NC; Jon William Packer and Mary Ansley Packer of Thomasville, GA.
