Annette Demorest Marten

Annette Demorest Marten, 92, of Cairo, passed away March 10, 2007 at Camellia Gardens of Life Care in Thomasville. Born January 16, 1915, in Marysville, Ohio, she was the daughter of the last Francis Marshall and Lydia Danbury Demorest. She was married to Kenneth Anderson, Charles Spitler and Dr. Eldor Marten, whom all preceded her in death. Mrs. Marten was a retired Chemist from the Nestles Corp. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Cairo, and was also a previous member of the First United Methodist Church in Marysville, Ohio. She was a choir member for 45 years, an organist, a member of Fortnightly and DAR Clubs and she was a hospital volunteer. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and she was a brilliant knitter. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Robert K. and Louise Anderson of Cairo; daughter, Dr. Susan Klein of Southport, Conn.; grandchildren, Barbara Darus and Barbara Ann Armentor both of Cairo, Carol McKinney of Richmond, Va. and Robert Anderson of Tyler, TX.; 12 great- grandchildren; and 4 great great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held in the First United Methodist Church in Marysville, Ohio. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the First United Methodist Church Scholarship fund, 318 S Broad Street, Cairo, Ga., 39828.
